What Inspired Toxic Perfection

Conversations are great inspirations for stories and that is exactly where the spark for my latest release originated. I was chatting with a close friend about how low we would go—regarding the age of the opposite sex and what potential experiences we’d considered having with…a young strapper. The simplicity of girl banter got my wheels going.

Now, the discourse wasn’t some deep and extreme exchange that went on and on. We briefly chatted about a number that was too young, as well as how far we would take things with certain ages, and finishing off with what we would take seriously and what we do just for the experience. It was quick and fun, not deep in any way. However, the exchange left me heavily pondering what it would take for someone to go against what they deem as important or absolute. What I received on my ride home was an image of my heroine, perfectionist Chance Evans.

Chance jumped out at me looking like every man’s dream and nightmare. I was lucky because Link made his appearance very quickly after Chance. I didn’t have to search or try and conjure up the perfect man to take on the unattainable beauty who couldn’t see up. He immediately gave ‘I got it’ energy and she immediately gave ‘Oh yeah?’ in response. Then their story took on an interesting life of its own. They gave more than the conversation with my gal pal and are still giving me so much. As of this moment, I’m working on Link and his issues, which is shocking me because up until this point, he was providing ideal for a twenty-seven-year-old, but he has his own bones about him as well. And we will be diving more into that with book two.
